CONCEPT

The Kinesthetic Pavilion is constructed of a bamboo frame and scissor truss system. Inspired by the Japanese sphere ball toy, dabo hinges allow the space within the frame to expand and condense for transportation and livability purposes.

A Bamboo frame provides the structure with the necessary strength and flexibility.

The kinesthetic nature of this pavilion is manifested in its ability to be transported quickly and easily. It has the ability to interact with many environments in unique circumstances. The first method of transportation is manual. Inhabitants may remove the textile skin and walk within the bare skeleton, manipulating its shape and changing its location. An alternative method allows the bulky shape of the frame to condense into a single compact ball, making it easily transportable by use of truck or trailer.
