Ching-yuen Cheung

Ching-yuen Cheung received his PhD degree in Tohoku University (Japan), 2007. He is currently a lecturer at the Department of Japanese Studies at Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interest is Japanese philosophy. He is one of the editors of Tetsugaku Companions to Japanese Philosophy (Springer), and an assistant editor of Journal of Japanese Philosophy (SUNY Press).

 

He is now offering courses on Japanese Philosophy, Japanese Literature, Japanese Culture, Japanese Films, as well as, Japanese Environmental Problems. He previously taught courses on Logic, Critical Thinking, Chinese Culture and Western Philosophy for many years.

 

In addition, Cheung is the coordinating leader of a knowledge transfer project titled “Restoration after 3.11: Pain, Suffering, Memory and Trauma” and the founder of Kitetsu, a free philosophy magazine in Hong Kong.
